World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost an item's gear score up to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you decide to take them to the Kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the effort.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as crit chance, attack damage as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a group. In some instances, this bonus could add up to more than the amount of damage a weapon upgrades by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon varies on its rarity as well as its current level. For example, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will increase until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones. At that point, it will reset back to one.
Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of their base. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences as well. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are very lucky.
item upgrader to upgrade armor items to improve their performance. This can increase the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it can sometimes change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded and their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in the weapon gaining 3% of attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an item and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's levels or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make the world of difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poison and fire as well as magic. This can make it easier to traverse difficult areas. The more defense your character is, the more value you can get from each point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as often as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total each of which requires you to complete a unique side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the corresponding fountain and then you can contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees required to complete each will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Horns to upgrade the next one. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in frigid environments with a lot of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with your comrades.
You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor for physical power or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you will still be wearing at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to unlock some perks on your armor. It is generally recommended to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game. For instance the Longsword or Battleaxe. It's nevertheless beneficial to have a few upgrades to the helmets and chest armor so that you can sneak around some monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, if consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by including glowstone dust and redstone.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table, or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The price of upgrades changes depending on what type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion you need to right-click it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open an GUI where you can choose the potions you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they'll give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.
Once a potion is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is stored. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanics of potions. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration 0:08 instead of the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the hover display for the item. The potion table is now crafted from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It is now able to be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions are not compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition. Also, putting a potion on a full cauldron drains the liquid and refills the bottle.
Finally, there are simmering potions made with dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone is also added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The potion table is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and inexpensive ornament or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is a way to express affection or friendship between family members.
Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Unlike other item upgrades , trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
The upgrade of a trinket can be an economical alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade the player for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same level of base as the old trinket, but it also comes with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be upgraded when they're not needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded between players which makes them a good alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are upgraded first then their secondary gear and finally other equipment that they won't replace anytime soon (such as rings or cloaks). When deciding which items to upgrade players should also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.
Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they're no longer needed and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be saved using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
